Certificate Requirements
Complete at least six or more FVD and related courses which must include:
- Introduction to Film
- FVD Capstone Course
- Plus four other FVD or related courses (With the exclusion of Film/Video/Digital Program courses, no more than three courses can originate in a single department or program.)
Courses taken at other institutions may apply toward the FVD Certificate. For approval, submit the course syllabus to the FVD office along with the transfer credit form.
An FVD course is originated by the FVD Program or if not, it is designated with an FVD number as a hard cross-list.
A Related course is offered by another department or program and concerns an aspect of film studies or production.
How to sign up
Students may major in any discipline and sign up for the FVD Certificate. In ACES, select the Long range plan - Major Declaration link and follow instructions.
