Internships

Internships are available for students seeking course credit for advanced production work or experience in the media industries. Applications for internships are reviewed by AMI staff. The Duke in Los Angeles program offered in the Spring semester includes a supervised internship for course credit which is of particular interest to students planning a career in the media industries.. Local internships are available with the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival of Durham, NC, the Empowerment Project in Chapel Hill, or with alumni.  The Duke Career Center maintains a list of paid and unpaid internships all over the country.

Other ways to gain experience in the field

  • Volunteer to help your fellow students on their projects.
  • Join the AMI mailing list so that you will be informed when "one-shot" opportunities become available.
  • Visit our office and see what other opportunities are available, such as the Cannes Film Festival and numerous film festivals and competitions.
