Production Opportunities On and Off Campus
At Duke
The Froshlife iMovie Festival gives first year students the opportunity to produce the best video about Campus life at Duke. See the calendar for the schedule. Filmmaking starts January 30 and awards are given in mid-February.
Freewater Productions, a student run film and video production organization, also open to members of the local community, offers equipment and production grants to its members.
Cable 13, the nations oldest student-run television station, gives students the opportunity to produce their own show or gain valuable experience crewing on existing shows.
Off Campus
The Research Triangle has become a fertile area for film and video production. Local production companies, ranging from documentary production, to advertising, to narrative production, occasionally request student interns. In addition, productions shooting on the Duke campus often request production assistants or interns.
